Yes, you can download and print high-resolution images of the Enlightened Beings and Buddhas absolutely free!
I realise that it can sometimes be difficult to find good quality, iconographically correct images of the various Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, especially in places where Dharma is not strong, or in remote areas. Therefore, I am very happy to be able to make this selection of images available to everyone to download at absolutely no charge.
The images are high-resolution and of sufficient quality to be printed clearly on an A4 or A3 sheet of paper and framed for your altar or shrine. So therefore I am making this available for all dharma practitioners around the world and for those who just want sacred images in their environment. Enjoy, be blessed and share this with others.
Let me know in the comments sections which images you downloaded. I would feel very happy to know.

Thank you so much for these sensational images and I have definitely downloaded a lot of them including Lama Tsongkhapa, Arya Tara, Heruka, Yamantaka, Dorje Shugden, Gyenze, Vajrayogini and Chenrezig and have greatly appreciated it. I’ve even used them in my own blog posts about these great enlightened Buddha’s and currently am using it for Arya Tara.
I am aware that the late H.E Tsem Rinpoche passed away into clear light two years ago which means that I could never thank him for having allowed everyone to downloaded these beautiful Buddha images for their use.
But I can never thank him and Kechara enough for this.
Thank you very much for your generosity; I was looking for an image of Buddha to make an altar and consolidate a meditation practice; as you mentioned it is difficult to find on the internet images that are inspiring and that reflect the essence, heart. But I found your space; Thank you very much for your generosity Master.

I am a Christian Iconographer of the Cretan/Greek tradition. However I have always had a fascination for Tibetan thangka paintings. In their concept and use they are not disimilar to Christian Byzantine Icons. These Thangkas are very beautifull. Thank you.
I am wondering if you could extend your assistance for a temple to produce a picture that will be used to be worshiped. I am volunteering to provide them with a larger and higher resolution which I do not have the expertise to do so. they have provided me with a low res picture and I was wondering if you have the right designers and expertise to have a look and re-frame the picture.

One of the few surviving historic Buddhist buildings in Mongolia. The temple of the Choijin Lama is an important example of Chinese-style religious architecture. It is one of the few surviving historic Buddhist buildings in Mongolia. Hidden among the tallest sky scappers this hidden gem is an architectural wonder. It was the home of Luvsan Haidav Choijin Lama, who is the state oracle and brother of the Bogd Khan. The State Oracle of Mongolia had a long historic connection with Dorje Shugden. Even took trance of 3 different deities , Nechung, Tsiu Marpo and Dorje Shugden. It is a temple with a lot of old, ancient artifacts as Choijin Lama would go into a trance. After been through historic changes it was reopened as a museum. The Choijin Lama Temple’s history is documented with many religious hardships and interesting happenings. Interesting read and detailed explanation for one to understand better . A must see place when travelling there .

Merely looking at these rare precious pictures of great masters is a blessing. Two great tutors HH Kyabje Trijang Rinpoche and HH Kyabje Ling Rinpoche of H H Dalai Lama as seen in these pictures tells us a thousands words. Ling Rinpoche was considered an emanation of Yamantaka while Trijang Rinpoche was considered an emanation of Heruka/Vajra Yogini.
Thank you Rinpoche for this sharing.

Breaking news the Tribune Journal published December 15, 2017 H H Dalai-lama planning to visit China. Since exile HH the Dalai Lama left Tibet in 1959, returning to China will be a wonderful reunion for many. This potential visit to China by HH the Dalai Lama might lead to those who left their homeland able to visit Tibet again. Millions of Tibetans in Tibet would definitely wish to see Dalai Lama again. The Dalai Lama would be too happy as great memories to see places as such his palace, relatives and so forth. If the return is successful all negative attacks on Dorje Shugden practitioners should cease immediately. There are indeed many benefits if Dalai Lama visit to China as it would clear the doubts of some. May Dalai Lama fondest wish come true soon.
Thank you Rinpoche for this news
This mandala offering is the symbolic offering of the prosperity of the whole universe. Mandala offering is a powerful method for accumulating extensive merit if we do it with proper visualization. Doing it this way we dedicate the merit from each offering for the sentient beings as it is performed. It is very effective for the mind. It is important to understand all about the offerings. Doing the mandala offering is a way of clearing out all these negative states of mind. The mandala offering purifies our attachment, the stinginess, the miserliness, the clinging mind. It enriches the mind with the positive potential from giving. We create a lot of positive potential or merit just by giving. The mandala offering is training us to develop the mind that takes delight and joy in making other people happy. In doing so, we create merit. Interesting read.

Changkya Rolpai Dorje a Grand Lama of China, Imperial Art Consultant, a principal Tibetan Buddhist teacher in the Qing court. He is closely associate with Qianlong Emperor of China. This relationship proved extremely significant. He served as Qianlong’s main Buddhist teacher and adviser in matters related to Buddhism. Including art, literature, religious initiations and practices, and diplomacy. He was recognized as a reincarnation of the previous Changkya Lama. As a Buddhist administrator in Beijing, he played an important role in founding Yonghegong Temple , a monastic college for Mongol, Manchu, and Chinese monks. He was also instrumental in developing the systems of iconography, cataloguing, and inscribing that would prove so important to the Qianlong emperor’s projects in Buddhist art. Truly talented.
Thank you Rinpoche for this sharing of a Great Lama.
Giuseppe Tucci was a scholar of oriental cultures, specializing in Tibet and the history of Buddhism. He is considered one of the founders of the academic field of Buddhist Studies. Tibetan painted scrolls, also known as thangkas came to Tibet from India. They
are synonymous with Tibetan culture and religion. The tradition of thangka painting which is also known as scroll painting came to Tibet from India. It was largely influenced by the art form developed in Nepal. Tucci, highly literate in Sanskrit and Tibetan as well as fluent in many Himalayan languages, was the first western scholar to travel widely through the Tibet and India. Thangka served as important teaching tools depicting the life of the Buddha. The scroll paintings are framed with colour stain ,an art form with unique features in Tibetan culture. Wow in one of the thangkas he even described the mythical kingdom related with the Kalachakra Tantra and its divine kings. What he did was truly amazing.
Thank you Rinpoche and Pastor Niral for this wonderful sharing explaining all about it.
Kalmykia is a sparsely populated republic and country of Russia located directly north of the North Caucasus in Eastern Europe. Buddhism’s revival in Kalmykia can be traced to the political liberalization which led to the construction of the republic’s first Buddhist temple. The Kalmyk nomads, arrived about 400 years ago bringing their faith with them from Asia. Having a long complex history views of religious revival in Kalmykia. The Kalmyks and Russians have had close ties for centuries. Kalmykia is the only state in the whole of Europe where the majority of the population is Buddhist. A beautiful country to visit with many attractions such as Temple of the Golden Abode of Buddha, Pagoda Seven Days, Buddhist Temple Syakusn-Sume and so forth.
Thank you Rinpoche and Stella Cheang for this wonderful sharing.
Reading this post again just wondering how this amazing Hanging Temple was built without modern technology. This Hanging Temple, built into a cliff near Mount Heng in Datong City, Shanxi Province, China. Built more than 1500 years ago by a monk named Liao Ran. It has survived since than with many locals and tourist visiting it yearly. It is the only existing unique temple with the combination of three Chinese traditional philosophies of Buddhism, Taoism, and Confucianism. The most outstanding feature of the Hanging Monastery is the side-by-side sculptures of Laozi, Confucius, and Shakyamuni. The temple was one of the five most scared mountains in China considered as a sacred site for pilgrimage. Wish to see for myself this unique temple someday.
Thank you Rinpoche for this sharing.
Duldzin Dragpa Gyaltsen the first Kyorlung Ngari Tulku, was one of the principal disciples of Je Tsongkhapa and also the founder of the Gelugpa school. Was one of the more notable previous lives of Dorje Shugden where in this incarnation, he had made the promise to arise as a Dharma Protector to protect the precious teachings of his teacher Lama Tsongkhapa. Duldzin Drakpa Gyaltsen was devoted to Lama Tsongkhapa, following all his advice and instructions without breaking any commitments. That’s how the first ever Gelug monastery, Gaden Monastery in Lhasa was built then. Interesting read.

Awesome art work of thangkas. Thangkas serve as important teaching tools depicting the life of the Buddha, various influential lamas and other deities and bodhisattvas. Looking at all these antique and ancient thangkas featuring Buddha, deities, the Dharma Protector Dorje Shugden and so forth is simply beautiful indeed. The thangka is very much a part of Sikkimese Buddhism and it is painted in the traditional Tibetan style.
Thank you Rinpoche and talented painters for coming up with all these awesome thangka painting for us to download for free.
To the Mosuo people whom are a small ethnic group living in Yunnan and Sichuan provinces in China, the Goddess Gemu is their main Protector. Mosuo people are an ancient tribal community of Tibetan Buddhists, accepting this Protector for over 1,000 years. The Mosuo are believed to be descendants of the ancient Qiang, a people from the Tibetan plateau . Where here women are treated as equal, have led families for centuries. According to legend, the history of the Mountain of the Goddess Gemu, is closely linked to that of Lake Lugu. The sacred Gemu Mountain graces the edge of the pristine, deep azure blue Lugu Lake. As told by the locals the goddess Gemu was a diligent, beautiful girl in Zhebo Village at the foot of Lion Mountain. Interesting story behind this beautiful girl and her ability to embroider . The people celebrates the remarkable Gemu Mountain Goddess on the seventh moon of the lunar calendar, with music, dancing and prayers. Interesting the folk myths and legends are infused with Tibetan Buddhism elements. Thank you Rinpoche and Valentina for sharing this enchanting story .

Dear everyone... This is a good condensed talk I gave on Guru Yoga of Tsongkapa. This is the one you should share with others when they are interested in a not too lengthy explanation. It is the perfect practice for everyone who wants simplicity yet effective blessings. You can share this with more people, it will be good.
"If you say you don't have money to help a animal shelter, why then do you have money to buy meat?"
~ Tsem Rinpoche
"Eating animals is not our God-given right, but being kind to them is."
~ Tsem Rinpoche
"What makes us good humans is not how we abuse animals, but how much we allow them to live and be happy freely."
~ Tsem Rinpoche
"We need another and wiser and perhaps a more mythical concept of animals.... We patronize them for their incompleteness, for their tragic fate of having taken form so far below ourselves. And therein we err, and greatly err. For the animal shall not be measured by man. In a world older and more complex than ours they moved finished and complete, gifted with extensions of the senses we have lost or never attained, living by voices we shall never hear. They are not brethren, they are not underlings; they are other nations, caught with ourselves in the net of life and time, fellow prisoners of the splendour and travail of the earth."
~ Henry Beston, The Outermost House
"Not eating animals is only unnatural when we are not used to it."
~ Tsem Rinpoche
MOTIVATIONAL QUOTES

~ Lama Yeshe
"If TODAY you are dissatisfied, you must make the changes to create different results for TOMORROW."
~ Tsem Rinpoche
SPIRITUAL QUOTES
“Meditating on Dorje Shugden while reciting his mantra will open the gateways to higher dimensions, blessings and protection.”
~ Tsem Rinpoche
“If one does the recitation of the Lama Tsongkhapa guru yoga prayer for even one month using one of the visualizations for great or clear or quick wisdom, one will definitely see development of that wisdom. It is proved by experience. There is no doubt that by doing the Lama Tsongkhapa guru yoga practice one can meet Lama Tsongkhapa’s teachings from life to life. And furthermore, it gives one the opportunity to be born in the pure realm of Lama Tsongkhapa, Tushita, whenever death happens.”
~ Pabongkha Rinpoche
"I was 18 years old in 1983. That was a very special year as I met His Holiness Kyabje Zong Rinpoche and received innumerable precious teachings and empowerments from Him at Thubten Dhargye Ling Centre in Los Angeles, California. It was the best time of my life. A time that seems so magical and surreal to me. Kyabje Zong Rinpoche is Heruka Buddha and I met Heruka."
~ Tsem Rinpoche
"If being me offends you, maybe I'm not the problem."
~ Tsem Rinpoche
"Never abandon your spiritual teacher no matter how many inner obstacles you need to overcome."
~ Tsem Rinpoche
"Actions to force something to be permanent makes all the karmas arise."
~ Tsem Rinpoche
"The dharma is not easy to listen to… because some people take it as criticism. But Dharma should not be just feel good only for the moment but for deeper contemplations."
~ Tsem Rinpoche
"Whether we do work and suffer but for others or we do work and suffer for ourselves, either way we have to suffer. That is the nature of samsara. So let us suffer for others and then suffering has meaning."
~ Tsem Rinpoche
"Those who really want the dharma to grow within themselves and to grow for others should never fear hard work, timing, difficulties, struggles, disappointments because it is for a good cause. Working for Dharma is not a prison or work, but it is purely spiritual practice. It is purely collection of merit and purification. Actually not doing dharma work is the real prison."
~ Tsem Rinpoche
"His Holiness Zong Rinpoche stressed the need to continue to practice even when we come up against obstacles, and that we should continually review our progress. He stated that a happy, luxurious life was like a good dream, and that obstacles and difficulties were like a bad dream. We should give them no significance, but simply carry on working towards real, everlasting happiness."
~ Ngala ’ö-Dzin Tridral
"Things in samsara always go wrong. That's its nature. Don't be surprised."
~ Tsem Rinpoche
"Knowledge never quenches the thirst, only application."
~ Tsem Rinpoche
LIFE QUOTES
"I pity men who occupy themselves exclusively with the transitory in things and lose themselves in the study of what is perishable, since we are here for this very end-that we may make the perishable imperishable, which we can do only after we have learned how to approach both."
~ Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
"Money amplifies negative characteristics and that can cause problems.
To walk away from that was actually very easy. I didn't even consider it."

~ Tsem Rinpoche
"It's amazing how some people have never met me or know who I am, but based on a few things they read here & there & rumours, they have formulated a new personality for me & all the things I've never done they passionately speak about....I find it funny and entertaining now. I guess we can't spend our lives fighting rumours...we just have to work hard & then rumours get proven wrong on it's own as a by product. No point explaining repeatedly. Just do our work & show results!!"
~ Tsem Rinpoche
"There's a difference between patience and laziness. Patience comes from respect while laziness from disrespect of others."
~ Tsem Rinpoche
"Although outwardly we have so much, we have so many conveniences, inwardly we have become more unhappy, so, acquisition is not the secret to happiness. The more we get, the more we have, the more unhappy we become."
~ Tsem Rinpoche
"Before we experience any pain, we already had a fixed view of how things should be. When the experience we encounter contradicts our views, then the pain arises. The pain arises due to our fixed views not so much the experience itself. So the secret is changing the views. Re-educating ourselves on our views."
~ Tsem Rinpoche
"You know since very young, for better or worse, I always did the things that others told me not to do. I wasn't really good at following the rules. Even now with how I share Dharma and my practice, I just do it the way I think it should be done but I do it sincerely. Not what others tell me what I can and can't do."
~ Tsem Rinpoche
"Love me or hate me, both are in my favor... If you love me, I'll always be in your heart... If you hate me, I'll always be in your mind."

Devotional Songs
Sung by Mary Fewel Tulin, these mystical songs in praise of the guru originate from the Sikh tradition. Yet, they are applicable to all traditions for those who want to venerate their guru.
The Known and unknown are both feared,
Known is being comfortable and stagnant,
The unknown may be growth and opportunities,
One shall never know if one fears the unknown more than the known.
Who says the unknown would be worse than the known?
But then again, the unknown is sometimes worse than the known. In the end nothing is known unless we endeavour,
So go pursue all the way with the unknown,
because all unknown with familiarity becomes the known.

What the meat industry figured out is that you don't need healthy animals to make a profit.
Sick animals are more profitable... farms calculate how close to death they can keep animals without killing them.
That's the business model.
How quickly they can be made to grow, how tightly they can be packed, how much or how little can they eat, how sick they can get without dying...
We live in a world in which it's conventional to treat an animal like a block of wood.

ASK A PASTOR
A section for you to clarify your Dharma questions with Kechara’s esteemed pastors.

Loo Y asked:If my motivation to transform is to just simply be a better and nicer person to other people, would that be a worldly motivation?pastor answered:Dear Loo Y,
Thank you for your question. In essence, yes a motivation to transform yourself to be a better person and nicer to others is still considered a worldly motivation. But having said that, it is still a good and beneficial motivation to have. A spiritual motivation takes, time, study, understanding and practice to really develop. This highest of these is to want to reach enlightenment so that you can help others. When you have this motivation you naturally develop transform yourself.
Even if you want to transform yourself to become simply a better person, you must have a reason behind this. It could be that you want others to like you more, or for your life to go smoothly, or perhaps there is a spiritual motivation behind it.
So in order to have a motivation to change, we need to understand why we want to have that motivation. When we understand this, then it will be easier for us to develop higher forms of motivation later.
Start where you are, with what you know, and live and practice according to that. But over time, don't stay at the point, learn, study and implement more. But the key here is consistency in your actions and transformation.
Your motivation may change, and your transformation will improve, but if you only stay at that level you will reach a point where your transformation stops. It doesn't go further. When you reach that stage, you need to increase your motivation to something more. I hope this helps.
Luna asked:Can you list a few ways we can collect huge amounts of merit?pastor answered:Dear Luna,
Any Buddhist practice generates merit. The most popular is to make tremendous amounts of offerings to the Three Jewels, such as light offerings, water offerings, etc. Or to engage in consistent Sadhana (daily prayers). Or even in engaging in pujas and making as many offerings as possible.
However, the most effective and powerful of all is actually transformation of the mind towards enlightenment. The more you learn about transformation and put effort into, when you practice it with the right intention and with the right effort, that is the best way to generate huge amounts of merit. I hope this helps. Thank you.
Jie Rui asked:Are hindu deities worldly beings or enlightened buddhas, even if the answer is worldly or not, can Buddhists practice them?pastor answered:Dear Jie Rui,
According to Buddhist cosmology, the majority of the hindu deities are not enlightened but they are the highest level of beings within samsara and hence very powerful and knowledgable. As such, Buddhists do not practice them, but it is fine to make offerings and ask for their help. Buddhists only take refuge in enlightened beings. I hope this helps.

Loo Y asked:Does bowing count as prostrating?pastor answered:Dear Loo Y,
Yes, bowing is a type of prostration. There are three main types of prostrations.
The best is full prostration, during which we extend our bodies fully flat on the floow.
The second is half prostrations in which we kneel on the floor and touch our heads to the ground.
The third is standing up and bowing.
If you are prostrating the best is to do the full-length prostration. However, if you are unable to do so, due to physical constraints or limited space, etc. it is perfectly fine to do either of the other two. I hope this helps.

Having a good quality correct images of the various Buddhas and Bodhisattvas is hard to find those days. But now Kechara had produced beautiful high-resolution images for us to print out for our home. It’s a blessing have a print out images of Buddha in our home. Looking through these images is amazing, simply beautiful having us get connected to them
Thank you Rinpoche and team for the effort…..with much appreciation.

Hello Kechara!

Thank you for all those beautiful pictures. I have downloaded some of them like VajraYogini, Lama Tsongkhapa (+ life stories), Yamantaka and 35 Buddha. Am very happy to find them on a website but I have a question I don’t want to post on comment, how can I do ?
Dear Milaine,
There is a section of this blog called Ask the Pastors (https://www.tsemrinpoche.com/ask-the-pastors) where you can post questions that the Pastors will answer.
Alternatively, you can email frontdesk@kechara.com and ask to be put in contact with a Pastor who can answer your question. Many of us pastors are also on facebook, you can search for us online. I hope this helps.
Dear Milaine,
May I know what type of question is it regarding, perhaps I can direct you where to ask the question.
In general, if you have questions that need spiritual advises, you can go to the “Ask The Pastors” section here: https://www.tsemrinpoche.com/ask-the-pastors. You can post as anonymous, and you will see the reply being posted in the same section.
Hope to hear from you soon.
Thank you Rinpoche for making so many free Buddha images online. I love this section so much because i can download many images when i need to send some Buddha image to my friend.
It is very difficult for people in certain region to get Buddha images to put on their altar. So this post and blog provide the free images for them to download. It is very beneficial.
Thank you
Wylfred
